Sub-processors of personal data
- Amazon Web Services LLC (AWS) - Web services and storage - USA
- Google Inc - Web services, storage and online shop - USA
- Apple Inc - Web services, storage and online shop - USA

- RevenueCat Inc - Online shop - USA
Transmission of personal data to third parties as part of the service
Some of the services provided by Trailmap require the retrieval or transmission of data to third parties in the manner specified below:
- Google Inc and Facebook Inc provide authentication services that the user may use, if they wish, to log in to the Trailmap service. The choice is voluntary and the user may also, if they wish, register directly with an email address and a password.
- Stripe Inc (web purchases), Google Inc (mobile purchase) and / or Apple Inc (mobile purchase) collect the identification and payment instrument information entered by the user into these services in connection with the purchase transaction for a Trailmap subscription. The Trailmap service does not itself directly collect or store any payment instrument information relating to purchases, but receives only from the third parties mentioned here the information about the service products purchased and the time of purchase, on the basis of which the subscription can be activated in the Trailmap service.
- RevenueCat Inc: Monitoring the validity of subscriptions; this service does not receive any information about payment instruments or the user's email, only the technical identifier of the user created by the Trailmap service
- Garmin Inc, USA - Sending a track from Trailmap to Garmin devices and to the Garmin service requires establishing a connection to the Garmin Connect service to the user's Garmin account, whereby Trailmap obtains the technical identifier that identifies the user in order to use the Garmin Connect service with limited rights (sending routes to the user and editing the sent routes). When the user sends a track to Garmin from the Trailmap user interface, that track is copied to the Garmin Connect service.
- Strava Inc, USA - The user can view their Strava activities in the Trailmap service. This requires establishing a connection to the Strava service to the user's Strava account, whereby Trailmap obtains the technical identifier that identifies the user in order to use the Strava service with limited rights (retrieving the user's public Strava information, e.g. activities).
Cookies, our own and third parties'
We use cookies and other technologies to monitor the use of the service. The purpose of this is, among other things, to
- Enable the operation of the services (e.g. cookies relating to the operation of usernames)
- Visitor tracking (the number of visitors to the service and which web pages are browsed)
- Collecting server log data (these are needed for monitoring the operation of the server software and for determining the causes of fault situations). The log data may record (including but not necessarily limited to) URL data, cookie data, your IP address, unique device identifier, device characteristics, type of network connection (e.g. WiFi, 3G, LTE) and service provider, network and device performance, browser type, language and operating system.
- Monitoring server resources (so that the server capacity can be dimensioned sufficiently)
The Trailmap service uses numerous third-party services as part of the service, including map tile servers for displaying map layers. These third parties may collect information also for purposes other than providing and developing the service, and may further disclose information for use by third parties. The third parties referred to here are specified below:
- Map tile servers: Both the map tile servers provided directly by the service and those defined by the user themselves may collect information about the user. The map tile services used by the app are provided by, among others, Maanmittauslaitos, the operators maintaining the OpenStreetMap service and Strava Inc. No information about the user is transmitted to the map tile servers other than what they can determine from the map tile retrieval function: from which area, at what time, from which IP address, and information identifying the browser. In other words, none of the information you have provided to the Trailmap service (e.g. username, email address or content you have created) is transmitted to the map tile servers.
- Online shop functions: Specified in the preceding section "transmission of personal data"
- Transfer of routes and tracks: Specified in the preceding section "transmission of personal data"
